  • 3 conveyor and palletizer lines connecting the filler lines with the refrigerated warehouse, with capacity for a 4th line.
  • Addition of a diesel and electric fire pump.
  • Addition of fire alarm systems to support sprinkler system modifications.
  • Lab and incubator room remodel.
  • Septic system additions.
  • Plant lighting upgrades.
  • Rooftop unit HVAC replacement and upgrades.
  • Replacement of existing cooler refrigeration.

DESCRIPTION: Johanna Beverage, a subsidiary of Johanna Foods, is a chilled juice and frozen product manufacturing company with the west coast plant located in Spokane, WA. This project consisted of a refrigerated warehouse addition on the existing manufacturing facility.

Electrical design included extension of the existing primary electrical system, a new electrical facility service entrance, and electrical design of the chiller plant. Chiller plant design consisted of two (2) 500HP ammonia chillers, with associated pumps, cooling towers, and variable frequency drives.

WOW Logistics Distribution Center

DESCRIPTION: The WOW-Jerome, Idaho warehouse, located just 100 miles southeast of Boise, Idaho is an ASI Superior Rated food grade distribution center that began operations with 232,650 square feet and has grown with an expansion to 307,650 square feet. The WOW-Jerome DC is a multi-temperature facility with ambient (dry) and refrigerated (cooler) warehousing storage areas, as well as a USDA approved cheese grading room. The refrigerated area is designed for variable temperatures ranging from 40 degrees to 53 degrees. This Jerome, ID public warehouse offers easy access to Interstate 84 and is rail served by the UP (Union Pacific) Railroad. The WOW-Jerome Distribution Center is a featured Cheese Financing Program facility.

The electrical design included a 3000 amp utility service entrance, normal power distribution, lighting, and lighting control.

REC Silicon is a leading producer of advanced silicon materials, delivering high-purity polysilicon and silane gas to the solar and electronics industries worldwide.

PCI – Pennell Consulting teamed up with Power City Electric on this fast track design-build project.

Electrical design consisted of normal and emergency power systems, lighting, grounding, and communications systems within multiple buildings on the Moses Lake campus. Each building was connected to a campus distribution system (designed and installed by others). Facilities included:

Sysco Post Falls Cold Storage Facility

DESCRIPTION: PCI – Pennell Consulting teamed up with Environmental Structures, Inc and Energized Electric on this fast track design-build project.

The goal of the team was to provide the Owner with a facility ready for occupation in less than 8 months. Due to the extensive coordination, communications, and diligence of all team members, the facility was delivered on schedule and on budget.

Extensive pre-design coordination with the equipment suppliers and on-site verification helped ensure that this project was installed easily within the Owner’s tight construction schedule and with minimal change orders.

The facility consists of dry goods and perishable storage areas and contains a perishable dock, perishable storage area, and frozen products area with 5 separate cooling zones.

The electrical system is designed for connection to a vehicle mounted emergency generator or the system can be modified to integrate to a future on-site fixed generator.

DESCRIPTION: This project provides a new 14,000 square foot facility addition on the East side of the Powerhouse, including storage and office space. Electrical design consisted of normal power systems, lighting, lighting control, equipment connection, grounding, data/telephone wiring, fire alarm, and security systems. East side campus site electrical systems were also part of the project design.

Grant County PUD, Wanapum Maintenance Facility, Phase II

DESCRIPTION: This project renovates the existing 62,400 square foot fabrication shop with new offices and a renovated shop space, which includes lathes, milling machines, rolling tables, a plasma and water jet cutter, band saws, hydraulic benders and presses, and two overhead cranes. A 12,000 square foot extension was added to the building for additional welding shop space which also includes relocation of the existing 30 ton crane.

Electrical design consisted of normal and emergency power systems, lighting, lighting control, equipment connection, grounding, data/telephone wiring, fire alarm, and security systems.

A separate storage building and fuel island were also part of the project design.
