Broomfield Police Department Security Replacement

DESCRIPTION: This project consists of the replacement of the security electronics system for the City/County of Broomfield Police Department, Public Safety Communications Center, and Courts Facility.

Security electronics system replacements include access control, programmable logic door control, vehicle sallyport control, touchscreen GUI, CCTV, intercom and paging, fixed duress alarm, and wireless personal duress alarm systems.

Okanogan County Courthouse

Okanogan County Courthouse

DESCRIPTION: Design of electrical systems upgrade and remodel to accommodate HVAC system remodel, which included replacement of the existing oil boilers with electric, new fan powered VAV boxes, and air handling units. Design encompassed modifications of the existing electrical switchboard and distribution system, along with customization of the emergency power system. Design also included fire alarm system replacement and the addition of an access control system. The Courthouse is listed on the National Historic Register.

City of Tumwater Police Addition

DESCRIPTION: This project consists of a police department addition and remodel of adjacent space in the existing city hall. This project has improved building safety, expanded holding cells, detectives’ spaces, and officer work space. The design also created space for interviewing, evidence handling, and a secure intake sallyport.

Security electronics system additions include door control, CCTV, intercom and paging, gate control and access control systems for processing, intake and holding areas, interview rooms, and offices.

DESCRIPTION: This project, for the Confederated Tribe of the Chehalis, consisted of electrical and security electronics design of new public safety facility with courtroom, police station, evidence storage, intake, booking, jail and control room. Electrical system design included normal and emergency power systems, lighting and branch circuit wiring, and interface to site utilities. Security electronics system design included PLC based door controls, hardwire graphic panels, intercom and paging, access control, duress alarm, CCTV, and UPS systems.

William O. Douglas Federal Courthouse

William O. Douglas Federal Courthouse

DESCRIPTION: The William O. Douglas Federal Building was built in 1912 and is listed on the National Historic Register. This building is an excellent example of Second Renaissance Revival architecture, a classically inspired and dignified style that conveyed the stability of the federal government.

This project included design of a fire alarm system replacement within the building which still operates as a federal courthouse and includes a branch of the US Marshals. Specific courtrooms are architecturally sensitive and required detailed requirements for device placement. Design challenges included device placement and conduit concealment around many of the historic architectural features, including the many beamed and coffered ceilings of the main courtrooms hallways. Additional requirements included providing interface and auxiliary voice command center locations within the US Marshal’s office to allow for supplemental notification and control during emergency situations.
